A modern-day monument marks the site on Tower Hill, opposite the entrance to the tube station, where many prominent Tudor figures were executed. These include Sir William Stanley (1495), Edward Plantagenet, Earl of Warwick (1499), Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham (1521), John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester (1535), Sir Thomas More (1535), George Boleyn (1536), Thomas Cromwell (1540), Thomas Seymour (1549), John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland (1553) and Lord Guildford Dudley (1554).
