Horrible Histories - Terrible Tudors Live on stage

We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead!

So it's time to prepare yourselves for....Horrible Histories - Terrible Tudors, Live on stage!

From the Horrible Henries (including our very own Henry VII), to the end of Evil Elizabeth, hear the legends (and the lies) about the torturing Tudors. Find out the fate of Henry's headless wives and his punch up with the Pope. Meet Bloody Mary and see Ed fall dead in his bed. Survive the Spanish Armada as they launch their attack.

Its history with the nasty bits left in!

Where better to watch this amazing piece of outdoor theatre from the world famous Birmingham Stage Company than Pembroke Castle, birthplace of the Tudors.

There will be two shows on the day: one at 2pm and another at 6pm. The gates will open one hour before the show start times.

An adult ticket is for anyone over the age of 16.

A concession is for Children aged 5-15, Seniors 65+ and Registered Disabled visitors.

The show is suitable for children aged 5 and over.

  • Why are there two show times? because it is a picnic style event, we are limiting the capacity to 800 per show, we are staging two shows one at 2pm another at 6pm to give as many people as possible the chance to see the show. A ticket only entitles you to attend one of the shows, so please be careful and choose the time that you would like. If you would like to attend both shows then please buy a ticket for each one.
  • What time will it start? Show 1 - The gates will open at 1pm and the show will start at 2pm. Show 2 - The gates will open at 5pm and the show will start at 6pm.
  • What time will it end? Each show will last approximately 70 minutes so the first show will end around 3:15pm. The second show will end around 7:15pm.
  • Is it a seated or standing event? It is a 'Picnic Style' event. This means that there is no seating provided but you are welcome to bring with you a folding chair or a blanket to sit on. Please do not bring in a tent or gazebo, we won't allow these to be put up because they tend to obstruct the view of others attending.
  • What food and drinks will be available? . The Castle Kitchen Team will be offering their usual variety of quality food, delicious iced creams and milkshakes as well as hot beverages and bottles of beer and wine. You are also more than welcome to bring in a picnic and your own food and drink items.
  • What items are prohibited? Drugs, BBQ's, tents, gazebos, furniture (apart from folding chairs) and weapons of any kind.
  • Is there an age restriction? Anybody below the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Apart from that there is no age restriction. However, everybody entering the venue will need to have purchased a ticket as this is classified as a large outdoor event that has a restricted capacity, even babes in arms must have a ticket to enter. Children under the age of 5 are welcome but at the discretion of their parents or guardian, all children must have a purchased ticket to enter whatever their age is.
  • Are dogs or pets allowed? No. Apart from registered guide dogs. It will be crowded and noisy and unsuitable for pets.
  • What facilities will be in place for disabled visitors? There will be accessible portable toilets available throughout the event. We are reducing the capacity of this event so that there is ample space for those in wheelchairs.
  • What happens in poor weather? The castle is an open-air venue. All concertgoers are encouraged to watch the weather forecast carefully and dress accordingly. The event will only be cancelled in the rare event of extremely high winds.
