Step inside Shakespeare’s Birthplace under the magic of candlelight for a unique, after dark experience.

Come in from the darkness of winter to enjoy a warm, spiced beverage of our own mulled cider or apple juice and a festive mince pie, as you are welcomed with traditional Tudor music and dance performances.

Then, after the merriment, it is time to take a candle and explore William Shakespeare’s childhood home, decked out, as it would have been in the late 16th century and explore the start of his story under the magic of candlelight.

During your tour, your guide will take you through the traditions of a Tudor Christmas, known as Christmastide. Discover the different ways our ancestors, including Shakespeare himself, could have celebrated including wassailing, the symbolic meanings behind many of the decorations in their homes and find out what ingredients really did go into a traditional mince pie!

Then it’s time to head back to the present to enjoy exclusive festive-inspired retail therapy. Enjoy the opportunity to indulge in tasters of our exquisite, locally produced gifts including our new signature edition Shakespeare Gin, wines, chutneys and much more.

Tickets are limited and pre-booking is essential.
